Cellar Refinement & Organization
A balanced cellar means different things to different people, and it is largely based on the personal desires of each private client. Regardless of your goals, we can help determine the state of your current collection—which wines are ready to drink, which are high risk and which are your most valuable investments—and help to stock your home or storage cellars accordingly.
Inventory & Reconciliation
Knowing precisely what is in your collection—and where it is stored—is essential to the sustainable management of any high-value portfolio. Our inventory services help establish a thorough overview of the whole of your collection, as well as detailed analyses of all the bottles therein. All quantities and mapped locations will be used to build a new inventory document or to reconcile existing records, with the goal of providing ease of access, whether for personal enjoyment or financial profit.
Appraisals & Sales
Each bottle in your collection plays a different role, with some bookmarked for enjoyment, while others represent potential financial gain. The process of appraising your existing investment can be helpful for insurance purposes, as well as to establish where selling certain parts of your collection could create opportunities for other investments. We can help with every step of this process and even sell select bottles either to other collectors in our network or through our online bottle shop, Thatcher’s Wine.
Auction Representation
Time-consuming and often intimidating, auctions can nevertheless be a beneficial avenue for procuring (or selling) particularly valuable wines. We can manage every step of this process either as a consultant or a direct representative, including:
Reviewing the catalogue to identify lots that fit your profile or represent particularly good value
Physically inspecting bottles or leveraging our personal relationships with auction house to gain further history or documentation regarding specific lots
Establishing minimum and maximum bidding ranges
Overseeing all shipping, handling, communication and logistics with the auction house to ensure your wine arrives safely.
Travel & Events
Whether it’s a party for two or 200, ensuring that each bottle arrives safely at the required destination can be a time-consuming and technical affair. Whether you’d like to have a rare Champagne shipped to a restaurant across the globe, or need us to organize pairings for a special event at your home, our experience in Michelin-starred restaurants enables us to realize a vast range of requests from within either your own personal collection or our larger hospitality network.
